Local exchange meeting for international students and scholarship students

The 2024 International and Scholarship Students Regional Exchange Meeting has ended. (*The event in the Chugoku and Shikoku regions was canceled due to inclement weather.)

Foreign students and Japanese students from each region will build personal connections through exchange through a two-night, three-day training camp, thereby deepening international friendship and mutual understanding. Every year, we receive great acclaim not only from many students but also from various quarters. We look forward to your participation.

In past events, we held the event with the sponsorship of the Japan Student Services Organization. However, this year we do not have sponsorship from the Japan Student Services Organization.

About participation qualifications

【Foreign students】Foreign students who can communicate in Japanese and who meet any of the following criteria.

  1. Those enrolled in Japanese universities, junior colleges, and graduate schools.
  2. Individuals enrolled in Japanese educational institutions who have been granted permission to participate by the organizing committee.
  3. Persons aged 18 and over

【Japanese students】Students who fall under any of the following.

  1. Students who are receiving scholarships from the Japan Student Services Organization and are enrolled in universities, junior colleges, graduate schools, or technical colleges (4th and 5th-year students)
  2. Students who are currently applying for scholarships from the Japan Student Services Organization and are enrolled in universities, junior colleges, and graduate schools.
  3. Those who are enrolled in a Japanese educational institution and whose participation has been approved by the organizing committee.
  4. Individuals who are 18 years or older, excluding full-time high school students and those in the third year or below of technical colleges.

About transportation expenses

【Hokkaido area】

  • No payment will be made. All transportation costs to the meeting place will be borne by the individual.

【Chugoku-Shikoku area】

  • We will reimburse transportation expenses exceeding ¥5,000 round-trip, calculated using the most economical method from your home to the meeting point (Kure Port). (Reimbursement limit: ¥5,000)

*You will be transported from the meeting point to the venue in each area by bus (or on foot in some areas). The cost will be borne by the organizer. For more information, please see the "Application Information" for each district.

Regarding cost burden

  • Meals, accommodation, event fees, and insurance are included in the participation fee.
  • The cost of the bus from the meeting place to the venue will be borne by the organizer.

Notification regarding participation, etc.

  • If the number of applicants significantly exceeds the capacity, the organizing committee will decide whether or not to participate.
  • We will notify you of one of the following two weeks before the event. If you do not hear anything, please contact us.
    (A) Notice of offer of participation, (B) Notice of pending participation (waiting for cancellation), (C) Notice of rejection
  • For those in (A), we will send an email to reconfirm your intention to participate. Participation decision notification documents will be mailed to those who are willing to participate. There will be instructions on how to pay the participation fee, so please pay the participation fee by the deadline.
  • It will be operated in a training camp format (group living). You are not allowed to move around independently or go out at night. There will be free time at the venue.
  • Each venue is a training facility. This is not a general accommodation facility such as a hotel. It will be mostly self-service. Sometimes the air conditioning is insufficient.

Notes

  1. All operations will be conducted in Japanese. There is no interpreter.
    The event is held in japanese only, and there is no interpreting services.
  2. It will be operated in a training camp format (group living). You are not allowed to move around independently or go out at night. There will be free time at the venue.
